The Yuli Coastal Culture Program aims to build a capacity within our Aboriginal students to achieve their goals through connections with community and culture. Students are encouraged to embrace and utilise their Aboriginal identity in achieving these goals, to develop capacities as lifelong learners who aspire to achieve post school success. This is achieved by inviting all Year 5 and 6 Aboriginal students across the Coastal Learning Community, along with selected Aboriginal student mentors from Kingscliff High School, to participate in regular activities that promote connection, culture and pride. Local elders and organisations are utilised to deliver activities that include learning cultural dance, local stories, bush tucker and language, whilst also having opportunities to participate in local cultural events.
